Making A Fish Tank

hi I'm going to make a tank for my angel since it is to small for it and I have 5 mm glass at home
so the question is can i make the tank 30 x 18 tall x 14 wide ???
will the 5 mm hold ok I don't want problems later on I rather go a little smaller

Should be fine. I prefer 6mm but so long as it's braced it should be OK

ok I send the glass to get cut
now I'm thinking since i'm going to upgrade i need a bigger filter system too
right now I only have a little filter box so I cant use that one,
so I was thinking of getting a power-head what do you think about this?
any other suggestion for a new 33 gallon tank?

an external canister filter around the size of an eheim classic 2213/2215 would work good (you dont have to get that specific brand/model, there are many to choose from)
