Afternoon all, hope this thread finds you all well.

Surely this has been mentioned before, no doubt on here, but i can't recall reading anything recently... but is there or could there be a service and consumption of such an idea?
The only exception i can think of would be distance and time in transit, not so much of an issue for us here in the U.K..but certainly in America, Canada and Australia.
Running tanks/storage containers with ammonia fed bacteria would be simple in theory, postage is straight forward enough (it's done on here daily) and why would it cost much to the customer?

Any feed-back or views would be fun to read.

Terry.

This has been done for years- its called bottled bacteria. They farm it, they bottle it and they ship it.

1st there was Bio-Spira, now there is Tetra Safe Start and Dr. Tim's One and Only.

^^^^ guaranteed to be DOA! ;)

You do high tech planted tanks so what would you know about cycling? Still waiting for your reply on the Scientific Section. :hey:

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD NOT ANOTHER DEBATE ON BOTTLED BACTERIA! That's not what this thread is about.

 I was considering doing this with a 40 gallon tank on the far end of my rack that is a pain to work. Load it with 20 air driven filters, old IV infusion pump to drip in 20x the amount of ammonia needed over a 24 hour period, hang a hose & take 20 minutes to do a water change daily, as the nitrates would skyrocket.

I also planned on jamming it in used beverage bottles for shipping & calling it bottled bacteria.
