Luc's First Planted Tank

Here are the pics of the new piece of drift wood I bought last night. I have positioned it in 3 different ways, please vote for the one you like the most... :)

Position 3

I am looking for mosses to be attached on the wood... Once the woood is ready, then I could start the rescaping... :)

Good luck to me... :)

Thank you llj, btw I have got the name for the plants from the help of some forumers in another forum.

The first plant is Hygrophila Corymbosa "Angustifolia".

Second plant is Nuphar Japonica.

Third pic: the lotus is green tiger lotus and the other plant is Ludwigia Repens.

Thank you so much on the help ya...

The Ludwigia Repens is a new plant in my tank, I found that it need high lighting in order to grow. I planted some under the green tiger lotus and they all melted. But it is an awesome plant, I quite like its leaf shape and the colour (dark green on top and red at bottom).

That was a stemplant! I guess with the moss covering it, I couldn't see how it was growing. Could have fooled me. I knew that plant was Ludwigia, I think I was looking at my left rather than your left.

Back to your wood. I actually like the second position best. The round shape would lend itself very nicely to a structurally arranged foreground of that little, dark-green grass-like plant you've got. Then attach moss on the extending branches. The right end of the wood (my right), could wedge in something and in the background you could have some of your stems or perhaps the Nuphar, which would contrast brilliantly with the brightness of the wood. I wouldn't put the wood in the center, but slightly off and to the left of the tank (my left). If it were me, I'd actually plant HC in front, and then teach it to creep along the wood. Then I'd put the moss on the branches and plant pink R. rotundifolia along the back and teach it to creep as well. But that's just what I'd do with the wood.

Position three gets my vote :)P Llj) would look nice emerging out of your plants.

Or could you stand it on its end and have a sort of moss 'tree' in one corner?

Thank you guy, of cos i will choose it myself, but is good to gather some opinions as references too. :)

What moss would you tie on this piece of wood if you were me? I have red cherry shrimps, amano shrimps and flying fox which might ruin the moss...

Opinions pls...

Don`t get me started on my favourite position.

How about Bolbitis heudolotii instead of moss?

Dave.

Thank you Dave for the suggestions... Will look into it. :)

A good thought Dave. Bolbitis is a fine choice. I have it in several tanks. It can get really big, though. I had to divide mine Yesterday. Slow grower my butt!

I like how your tanks are nearly flush. It is two tanks, right? It almost looks like just one divided.

Wow nice room .... and go with position 3 its good!

The shiney-ness of the tiles on your floor nearly blinded me haha!

Btw, I have rescaped my tank last night.

I have taken out all the plants and stuff from the tank, redid everything.

It just like a new tank now, will take some pics to share later... :)
