Fish Crazy
I have seven different species of Apistos but can only seem to get the cacatuoides to spawn and raise fry. Some of the species are only recently aquired or are young pairs so not really worried about these yet but a couple of the species ive had for around 6 months.
Their doing all the right moves including blocking up their caves with sand so that you can only see their heads but they havnt spawned. My water is really soft and around PH 6.8. I've read that if you lower the PH this can do the trick.
My worry with this is that when i was doing my fishless cycles a few years ago i was advised that if the PH gets below 6 then this can stall the bacteria processing. If i do this then surely the ammonia will build up, any ideas.
