Epiplatys dageti and Aphyosemion australe seemingly going at it in a fish orgy..

The male dageti and male australe were simply displaying to each other. The male dageti was trying to breed with the female dageti and the male australe was thinking it was going to be fun but the male dageti said bugger off.

Meanwhile, the flying fox was eating the eggs.

The male chocolate australe was trying to breed with the female dageti before I grabbed the phone to record this. By the time I did, the male dageti got in and shoved the australe aside.

Funny enough, right after recording, the male australe and female dageti were trying to breed in another corner of the tank. Shame that all of this was in vain, though.

Normally fish try to breed with their own species. You might have an odd couple that swing outside their species

Yes, he has 3 australe females with him, but keeps trying to swing with the dagetis. He's a strange one, alright!

I’ve seen my male dageti try to mate with juvenile Dicrossus maculatus and Macropodus ocellatus in the presence of females of their own species. They’re just randy little buggers.
