Looking Up At My Local P@h?

I went in a couple of weeks ago to find all the tanks gone. I enquired and was told they were being refitted, would all be up and running again in about 3 weeks.
Went in today and the new tanks are going in. They are 3 high and each lot of 6 has a sump tank full of shiny new media at the bottom which will be hidden eventually. I am curious how they will cycle these. Presumably they won't do it fishless and have them all sat empty for 6-8 weeks. So fish in with very light stocking? Or will they just shove everything in and have it all die?
They had a tank separated into about 8 small sections with a perforated disc between each-for bettas I presume
I bought an API test kit-checked the price first as it was labelled as strips on the shelf. The manager served me and said strips were quicker but tended to be less accurate. I commented that I found one bottle always runs out quicker than the other and he said they had that trouble in the shop too, as the second liquid is so much thinner than the first.
So they clearly test their water, using API liquid kits. Maybe it will become a nice place to shop for fish
Now if they'd just stop selling tiny tanks for goldfish.....

They'll throw a load of fish in and do massive water changes, because the systems are so big and are built for purpose, they're easy to drain.

It's the one in Mansfield, on the retail park next to burger king. No harm if they do big water changes I suppose, must be great to have a tank so purpose built!

So is mine because they run of 1 filter system so if a fish catches a disease in one tank and it is spreadable then all the fish catch it and they don't treat them

Mine too, and thinking about it, he said their no.2 bottle ran out first?

The liquid it thinner so we take more care to only put in 'X' amount of drops. Probably meaning our drops are slightly smaller because it wont hold itself to the bottle as well as the thick liquid will.

If the shop rush a bit then they'll be 'guestimating' more so it'll come out faster.

Well i'm ok because i can travel down to blue ocean in attercliffe which don't and if any fish get ill they treat them.

The P@H at Southend is brilliant! It's run by very knowledgeable staff and I have to say I didn't believe it until I went there and saw it for myself. Most impressive!

Sadly my local one at Becton needs to take a leaf out of their book
