Has anyone ever used or know any info on this Eheim 2215 canister filter can't seem to find any about flow rate on this, was thinking for my 55gal tank am able to get one for 50 used so quick replys would be awsome

i have one of these myself, atm it is running in my 20 gal to cycle then it is being moved to the 55gal when it arrives. As for flow rate im not too sure, never really took much notice. Imo these are good filters to have, quiet, reliable and easy to start.

You say £50 used, in my lfs they are £64 without media which will cost you £20, I would go for the new option or pay less for second hand.

the Eheim has a flow (pump) of 620lph, in real terms less than 350lph. you need to be, around, 1100lph for a 50ukg tank. so 3 may do it, just.

Take a look at the FX5, it will do your tank on its own, cost is not too bad. and, though its quite new (2 years), it seems reliable. other options are the Eheim pro3 2080 and the 2250 classic. the Rena filstar XP3 is, just, up to it too. and for balance the Ex2400 tetra, oddly gives the lowest (real) flow of all the filters mentioned, yet claimes the second highest pump rate.

(Sorry its in CAN funds) Ty very much you gave the answer basically what I was looking for the entire 1100lph but my tank is 55 us gal deminsions i measured is 48 x 12 1/4 x 20 (L x W x H) its think its 49 gal tank imperial(my fault should have thaught of that). Currently I have the Wisper 60(HOB) with a flow rate of 300gph so filtration not bad and happy with it just looking to upgrade to an external easier for cleaning(and more media choices), this filter will probably go into the 38us gal one we have for filtration in it, holding in the futrue plants as well as Gourmis and other community fish.

These are ones I have been currently looking at and reading reviews about. (Unfortunitly the FX5 here costs 450 dollars CAN funds in stores I can't see myself paying that much for a filtration system >< have to think outside of the box a little bit included a little more detail this time)
