Looking To Buy My 1st Betta

I bought a fluval edge tank specifically for a male betta and it's now cycled and ready.

The problem is that all of the ones locally seem to be in poor condition

I don't mind ordering online so does anyone have any suggestions where to look?

Hiya, and welcome to the wonderful world of Bettas.

AquaBid is a fantastic site. http/www.aquabid.com/cgi-bin/auction/auc...&1237321268 However alot of bettas come from US/Thailand so you will be paying a bit for P+P (The bettas are amazing though)

Netty and Bronzecat on the forum are really good breeders, so visit them too at http/www.betta-paradise.co.uk/ (They have a couple of females in i think , and i think their next spawn will be ready in 1 month.

If not, visit the betta lady http/www.thebettalady.co.uk/stockshop.htm (not alot of stock in)

If you dont see nothing that appeals to you / bettas are a bit pricey then try to drive around to a few FS and take a look at their bettas.

I have bought from the betta lady before and she gets some really nice fish, she hasn't got much at the mo cause she just got married but she should have some more in the next few weeks. There are quite a few on ebay at the moment, i think tilly from the forum has some left and they are stunning. Also try netty and bronzecat and also modaz (all on the forum). Even the ones at your lfs in poor condition can recover to be absolutely beautiful, they just need a bit on love and care. Good luck with choosing one x

i got all of mine (1 male 2 female) from an ebay seller (who's hobby is breeding bettas) called iand44. they're beautiful. also the seller is great. they gave me their phone number so i could chat in person. and they shipped the fish really well. uk baseed too. postage was quite cheap

ask your lfs to order one in for you , if you have a maidenhead aquatics near you they will do that

Whoa - Sorry, totally forgot Modaz! He had an AMAZING black & white ''dalmation'' betta in - Last i saw it was up to £50!
