My office put my foot down about my having another tank at work- until I showed them a biorb, which they find futuristic and attractive! Not that I'm abusing my companys fish policy or anything.... but there are ways around these things....! :sly: It's not my ideal version of a fish home, but if needs must and all that...

I believe they are very small- hard to work it out to scale really as can't find a piccie which allows this.. I'm now contemplating buying one as a home for a nice male Betta/ fighting fish.
Would it do this? Is it likely to break down at earliest opportunity? I remember threads that rubbished them but don't remember if that was because of size or durability.

there perfect for a single betta and maybe a tank mate but as far as fish tanks go, people always overstock them as there surface area is tiny it's extremely easy to do this.

so if it's only for 1 fish then it's fine, replacement parts are expensive though, the "service kits" are now up to £6.35.

i agree totally, perfect betta tank but not much use for anything else.

they do look good though. from a decorative point of view.

I used to have a tropical biorb in it i used to keep different coloured guppies the tank looked very pretty and the guppies loved swimming around in their tank. I had to get rid of it as i bought a larger tank 125l and put my guppies into my 37.5 litre tank. I think you can keep some types of tetras in them as well. Never had any trouble with mine did regular water changes etc, i didnt change the filter media for over 6 months and the fish were fine. Tested the water regularly though. Never tried live plants in mine only plastic ones but i think real plants would look nice. HTH :D

The filter in them can be a bit strong for Bettas.

I have seen them with a small shoal of Lampeyes and it looked very effective.

Looks fun, but for 100 USD for the smaller one its a waist of money. You could set up a beautiful 20 gallon tank for a little more than that.
