Whats the plan for it?
Not sure. My husband wants sharks or angels. But the compatibility pool for both is a lot smaller than what I am used to, so ovee the next few months I will be planning the stocking for it. I will be updating the post as I do work on the tank. It will probably be about 2-3 months before its up and going, and that included the getting the equipment I still need and the fishless cycle.
I am definatly up for stocking suggestions, as long as they stockings revolve around sharks or angels. The tank is approx. 55gallons.

lol i love planted/community/salted/ everything else as well just prefer malawi's
Husband isn't a big fan of Cichlids. He really really has his heart set on sharks/angels.

Shame. Go for the sharks and angels? will look nice
I am just unsure on how to stock them. I know angels are not compatible with alot of fish. I know sharks are the same way. Any suggestions? I am also open to danios, tetras, and other fish that are compatible with sharks and/or angels as I would still like a variety. My husband likes all the varieties of angels, and he def. wants a red tail shark....UGH. This is going to be such a pain, but so fun.
And don't worry. I have malawis in mind for the 200 gallon I plan on buying next year
We finally got it setup in a nice spot, so you can see the tank better, and not at such a weird angle.

With the angels:
platies, all corydoras, flagtail catfish, porthole catfish, lemon tetras, diamond tetras, emperor tetras, black neon tetras, black skirt tetras,festivum, Bristle nose Pleco, and Red Wag Swords there is a lot to choose i think. Just not sure how well they work with the red tail sharks as they can be quite aggressive. Think if you stay away from adding anything else that is a bottom feeder like the shark they should be ok. Got a decent sized tank though which is a good start

cherry barbs, tiger barbs, gold barbs, white/black skirt tetras, congo tetras, danios and giantdanios. Thinking as long as the fish are a decent size then they should be ok although i know barbs are known to be fin nippers so dont no what they will be like with angels.

I figured with the sharks they wouldn't be with angels. I was going to do one or the other. My husband has this idea of what he wants, but he doesn't realize that not all fish are compatible lol. I am slowly trying to teach him. Heck, he doesn't even know what the maintenance entails, but I figured I was going to do all that. I just like fish regardless, so I want him to have something he can really enjoy watching. My livebearer community bores him lol

Ive seen many setups with the 2 together, never done it personally as i haven't kept the red tail sharks before. The thing is i know the shark's can be quite aggressive but if there is enough cover with plants/rocks/wood what ever you intend to add you will probably hardly ever see the shark(depending how well planted and scaped the tank is) as he/she will be having a nosey around everywhere and staying out of the way. The angels to usually stay in the top 2/3rds of the tank so the shark and angels will barely come into contact. I could be wrong with this as i have no experience with the 2 together

I don't have experience with either. I know that angelfish are surprisingly hardy. My father-in-law has an angelfish that I swear up and down could survive the apocalypse. The poor fish has seen some things....

haha, Yeah they are when i had mine the PH at first was fluctuating while i tried to get it right for breeding, this didnt seem to faze them at all which I was quite surprised at.
