Local Lfs

Hi i went down to my local lfs today and noticed a large aray of birchir s of varying discriptions from albino to armoured all selling at 15 pound each , not sure if this is a good price or if anyone is looking for some but they had at least 20 albino and probably the same of armoured cant remember what the others were called but definitely had plenty in if anyones interested .The lfs is BAS in bolton if anyones looking for some .Also found a few agazzi double reds going for i think 20 for a pair not sure what prices these are going for normally , hope ive helped anyone looking for these species and happy new year !!

You're quite lucky to have BAS as your LFS. I went there early last year and wasn't impressed, lot's of empty tanks. Went there a few weeks ago and it was miles better, lots of stuff you just don't see in your average LFS and the place is huge too. Did you notice if they had any unusual rainbowfish in at all?

i think they had neon rainbows and some dwarf and a few yellow rainbows but i wasnt there to look for them im afraid i went to buy food and thought id have a browse as you do lol and came back with a false bumble bee catfish but didnt get a lot of info out of the guy there on them

I've only ever been twice with a large gap inbetween. First time was poor second time was good. Is it under new management or something?

yes i think theyve had a change of management and think a funding to improve the store the guys seem a lot more helpful than 2 years ago. they seem to have a better selection of fish aswell and a better quality of fish .the best bloke to deal with has glasses on ive found hes helpful enough

one of the biggest problems i found there was the total lack of staff, it was bloody infuriating most of the time, i have lost count of the times i thought sod this for a lark and left without getting what i went in for it was really annoying because it isnt even my local and i would have to drive to Bolton which isnt that far maybe 7 miles but i just hate driving in Bolton. from what i remember the only time i didnt have to wait round was when i was spending hundreds of pounds buying my juwel rio 240..... strange that

i actually prefer Oasis in manchester , the staff have always been excellent when i have been and have some quality fish ,and the good thing is all of them know what their talking about so im lead to believe lol doesnt matter if you only spend a few pound they will always give you time .
