No, it's really not.
The correct pluralisation of "platy" is "platies".
Apostrophes are used either to make a possessive noun (e.g., Sarah's shoes) or to indicate that a letter or number is missing (e.g., can't for cannot; '60s for 1960s).
Apostrophes are never used to make plurals (e.g., the infamous greengrocer's apostrophe, as in banana's and cauliflower's). Nor are they used to make plurals out of numbers (e.g., 1960's is wrong).
