Hey i figured i will need around 40kg of live rock for my tank55g(Uk), Im willing to cure the rock myself but cant seem to find any uncured rock sellers in the uk (Any links/suggestions?) So i have submitted to the fact that i may have to purchase live rock that is cured, 40kg of it i cant find all that cheap :S So i then considered base rock being mixed with the live rock to create new live rock :) but what ratio is suitable to mix my live/base rock so the base rock pics up nicely. And when is it considered live for filtration purposes?
Thanks in Advance

Well, when I first started my tank I had 50lbs of BR and 20lbs of LR... I had to stock SLOWLY and battle algae outbreaks but this worked for me

I bought 27kg cured LR and 25kg of "ocean rocks" for base rock in my 63 us gallon tank. I'm going to be buying another few kgs when I find a piece which fits in this particular spot in my tank. So far, it seems to be doing okay with this amount of LR but I guess only time will tell!
