i got some platies and am considering using the fry as a live food source but my girlfriend has a real problem with it!

does anyone have an opinion?

what do you plan on feeding them to?

theres really no point as they contain little nutrients for the fish...but once theyre a bit bigger and you can gut load them with protein rich foods and then feed them...they will be of nutritional benefit

"gut loading" is where you take your live food and feed it as much as it will eat. Then you would feed these "gut loaded" fish (brine shrimp, daphnia, etc) to your larger fish. It's a common practice by people who feed live foods often to make them more nutritional.

stuff them with microworms as theyre more nutritional, blood worms, maybe the odd veggie

your betta will have a hard time eating those as they are usually fast swimmers and bettas mainly hunt the surface of the water

the angels and gourami will most likely adore them.

if you leave them in the platy tank, the platies will eat them
if you raise them all, what are you gonna do with them?
ask the girlfriend what you're expected to do with so many fish, considering platies give birth every month
