As you might have read on some other posts, I'm gettin a new betta soon and I was wondering if along with the betta pellets can I feed him some musquito larvae every like 2 or 3 days like i do my fish in my 10 gallon? I raise the musquito larvae from a water pan in my back yard under the deck. It's good because you feed your fish free food and your reduce musquitos in your area. If you do this make sure to freeze them and then let thaw and move to another jar like i do to reduce the chance that there could be larvae hatching out in your tank. That would suck.

Not to mention increase the chance of West Nile Virus. ;)

I've heard some people feed their bettas mosquito larvae, so I don't think it would be a problem (I've never tried it myself, so maybe that's not much of an opinion). As always, you have to be careful not to introduce diseases that can be brought in by homegrown live foods.
