I guess we could all make a homemade food like @fishorama. It does sound like a high quality diet for sure. My fish would be eating better than me lol.
I feed a couple of high quality prepared foods supplemented with frozen foods. I feed some freeze dried bloodworms or dahnia for roughage occasionaly. I do frozen out of sheer convenience. Actually frozen isn't that convenient for me either. I have 2 lfs somewhat close and they just carry the basic bloodworms/brine shrimp/mosquito larve (sometimes). If I want frozen daphnia or cyclops or something out of the norm I have to go to the net, which has minimum orders and expensive frozen shipping. Anyway. I would like to try to culture more live foods next summer. Flightless fruit flies, springtails, maybe something else unconventional.
I feed one per day unless conditioning for breeding. During the cooler months of the year as temperatures do fish may only get fed a few times per week. They are fine.
Also here's another prepared foods, a very popular gel food, that has garlic.
