Little update - nitrites!

PH stable
When dosing 3ppm ammonia it’s back down to 0 within 24 hours
Nitrites seem to just be stuck at 1. Is this normal?

it takes longer to grow the 2nd stage of bacteria, just seems to take forever. When I played with fishless cycling to get the nitrite to go zero I finally had to quit adding ammonia.

It is. Now the bacteria colony that does rhe nitrite to nitrate work will start to ramp up, soon you'll have zero ammonia and nitrites.
