i've made up my mind what i finally want to do with my 15g.

i would like to set-up my own SA biotype but on a small scale.

i'm thinking some cories but not sure on them, tetra of some sort (or pencil fish as someone reccommended to me) and a pair of dwarf chiclids or rams maybe.

any input? i think it would be overstocked? so i might drop the cories.

i can use the 1inch per g as these are small fish right?

say 5 cories 2inch each = 10inches
6 tetra 2 inches each = 12inches
2 dwarf chiclids 3inches each = 6 inches
= 28inches in a 24inch tank?????

i could possibly go for a smaller species of chiclid ones that only grow 2inches so it woul still be 26inches all together.

i'll set the tank up with bog wood and real plants and a sand substrate.

cheers for any help

what about Cichlid shell dwellers? I think it would be ok to stock as you have listed as the corys are on the bottom and the rest are middle. but thats just me.

shell dweller would have the tank to themselves need completly different set-up to what i have, wouldnt be able to have that many of them only 4 max 1m 3f probably and shells around me are about £3 each and you can only get big shells. i was thinking about them but decided against it. plus if i had a species tank i would really want to breed them which i don't have the room for.

if i go with this method

Surface area (length x width) divided by 10 (e.g. A 48”x12” tank = 576/10= 56.7 inches.)

i could keep 28inches of fish and this method is reccommened for tanks along with 1inch per g and other rules.

any thoughts?
