Little Help

I've got to move my 55gal tank to paint the wall behind it now moving the tank is pretty easy
but what should i do with the fish? i've got some storage boxes i could use but the thing is, these are not exactly 'peaceful' fish and i'm scared they'll munch eat other lol.

The tank will need to be moved for a good 6-8 hours, how long would i be okay without a filter?

Was thinking of putting the best 'paired' fish together in box and rest in another box and then the 'left overs' in a bag floating.

If they don't munch each other in the tank why would they in a storage box. Storage box? Do you mean something like a plastic tote? I'd go ahead and put all your decorations and and plants in there, put the filter in it and put the fish in it. You wouldn't be okay for 6-8 hours without a filter, and definitely not if they're bagged.

Well 240L is a big difference to a roughly 100-130L plastic storage box, there's no way i could get away with putting the fish i have in that same storage box, it'd end nasty imo...

Basicually in the tank is 3 green terrors, 2 females that've split the tank in half.
a male and female krib that've just recently 'unpaired' and a firemouth.

I was thinking 2 storage boxes and bagging the kribs and leaving the best pair of terrors to the box, that'd leave the other terror and firemouth for the other box, i can use the heater from my 90L as it'd take a while for the temp to drop in my studio room.

Just filters are a problem, i've not a clue what to do tbh lol.

It was just an idea that i'd check to see if was okay or not nothing certain but surely fish do get shipped in bags for some amount of hours too?

I've never had fish shipped to me, so I can't comment. I've just had problems transporting fish from the LFS to our house, which is about 4-5 hours by car in a well-insulated and protected setup, so I'm leery about bagging them at all. But that's just me.

I've managed to borrow 2 small tanks at around 25gal with a
heater they should do the job, now my only problem is the filter.

I could always just do a small water change on each tank every few hours, would this work instead of a filter?

This is alot of hassle just to paint a small wall lol.

Why do you have to move the whole works just to paint the wall? I'd use one of those skinny rollers ... move the filter to the side of the tank temporarily, then paint behind the tank, then drape the tank with a towel or sheet to protect from spatters. Half hour later it's done.

If only, the tank is in an alcove that only JUST fits in, it's tight to the wall on both sides and back so it'll have to be a full move.
The paint needs a few coats too making it even more hassle lol.

Yeah nasty paint, i'm just gonna move the tank and re-set it up in middle of
the living room for a day and then move it back - seems the safest thing to do really.

Personally i would just set the tank up in a different room- if you want to do a decent paint job you'll want to do at least a couple of coats and thats going to take a lot longer than 6-8hours. Plus paint fumes can also be toxic for fish- you want to keep your fish totally safe from the paint until its fully dried.
