If you have plenty of rock then some of your fry will survive, cichlids are very good parents and they will do there best to ensure the fry are safe. the fry themselves are not stupid neither, and they tend to hide away untill the coast is clear or they are big enough to venture out. Iv'e had fry appear before now at a couple of cm that I never even knew existed. :good:

so i should just leave them? how do i make sure they get enough food? i i find them should i put them in another tank?

unless you want to sell them. they dont grow so quickly. I would leave them, trust me, they will find food, usualy in the form of broken flake, or food that the other cichlids have spat out. you will go for weeks without seeing them, you will think there all dead, and then one day you will spot one, hiding under the rocks, its great, then you will spot another one, and soon you will find were there all hiding. there brave little things that take every oportunity to nip out for a tasty treat. give it a go, if I'm wrong then try it a different way next time, they do breed regulary once started. :good:

UPDATE.........Looks like she is back to normal but no sign of eggs or fry... do you think they got eaten? I can post a pic of my tank setup if that would help

if you cant see them readily, and theres not a bunch of stuff for them to hide in it's safe to say they didnt make it. take her out, put her back in original tank and keep an eye out on the grow out tank.

crush a tiny bit of flake and make sure it falls to the bottom, doesnt just float on top, if there are any fry they wont see it floating, keep a look out for any that might comeout to nibble. but chances are since this was her first batch and she's so young, she had her own omlet buffet

this isan her first batch i dont think just her first batch while in my care ill just keep an eye out.
