i am feeding them 2 times a day on tropical flakes and they r eating them ok but they are all broke up

Mmmkay. I'd up the feeding to 5-6 times if you can. Also, try supplimenting in some Frozen/Freeze-dried/Live foods. It will make them healthier, more colorful, and make them grow faster.
