Lily Pipe

I'm thinking about getting a lily pipe, but have no idea what one to get. They are all different shapes and sizes. I use 16/22mm tubing, so what size?

You'll want Lily pipes with a diameter of 16mm in that case the tubing diameters are internal/external diameters (16mm internal, 22mm external) It doesn't matter if you go a millimetre or two smaller however as you can heat up the filter pipes in warm water to soften them and prize them over the lily pipe.

Is it for your Discus tank? I'd recommend sticking with the spray bars, you'll get better circulation.

Well in another post the talk was that a lily pipe would give me better circulation for my CO2....as my plants are just not growing and i have algae issues.....STILL! I'm not sure how it would give better circulation, but the talk of experience from others seems to imply it would.....

Or maybe it was just for helping my CO2? I have two pumps in my tank too for the circulation

They're good for CO2 distribution but I'm not a fan of the overall design, I've had much better success with spray bars and I know others have too.

well, my CO2 may not be reaching my substrate well enough, so i think i will give it a go.... i have tried everything else haha.

HOW does it distribute CO2 better? I would have thought a spray bar, spraying it into the tank would be better than this pouring it into the top....

The flow pattern it creates ensures good CO2 distribution, if you google 'lily pipe' you should come across a good diagram.

I have seen the diagram now, thanks for that. But i dont see why my spray bar wouldnt do the same if i aimed it in that direction..... hmm. I will try with the lily pipe anyway and try to use my power heads to create a good circulation of water...
