im going to be breaking down my 65G and selling it soon so i will need to take all the plants out of their and divide them up into my 3 other tanks one of which is a 10 gallon that just came with regular screw in lightbulbs which i assume are no good for plants and i need to upgrade them.

i was having a look on bigalsonline.ca and found this page of screw in type bulbs http://www.bigalsonline.ca/BigAlsCA/ctl366...ewType=Category

are any of these what i would need to prepare my 10G tank to be planted up...

if so, which ones should i buy?

Thanks

link doesnt work....

Why do you think it will be no good for plants?
As long as there is enough light, the type (spectrum, kelvin etc) is not important, plants can adapt to this.

For all practical purposes, exactly.

If your tank only has incandescant lights, then it would be wise to replace them with the biggest wattage of flourescant energy saving bulb as you can find, as they will provide more light for the plants.

The 'daylight' ones tend to look nicer than a lot of incandescent bulbs too.

I find that the spiral 13W fit nicely into my 10G hoods. They produce quite a bit more light than an incandescent that would work in the same fixture and they cause less heat buildup. The straight tube fluorescents can also be found with a design specifically for plants. I don't care for them because they have a pinkish look to them when they are lit and they make the tank look funny. Some of the Big Al's lights are listed as 50/50 bulbs. Those are not what you want for plants. They are a combination bulb with a high temperature spectrum on one half and a very blue looking light on the other half.
