Lighting...

hi
just need some advice on how long your light should be on...
i have mine coming on at 5.30pm and goes off at 11.30pm.
is this long enough or not ?? dont seem to be having any problems.

plus on feeding , i feed every other day this ok fish all seem fine and water ok

It all depends on what kind of lights you have & if you have live plants.

Generaly 6 hours is a good figure.

dont have any live plants
tank was given to me so not sure wot light it is

If you don't have any live plants and you don't have any problems with having the light in 6 hours a day then don't worry.

As for feeding, I personally feed my fish every day but I also ensure no food is left to sink to the bottom and decompose thus releasing ammonia. Again, if you don't seem to be having any problems then things should be fine.
