Can anyone give me a little insight into t5 tubes pls? How long do these tubes last ? They are very thin compared to what I used to use. I have bought a Bio-pur light off ebay, has three sun glo and one lifeglo, is that ok for the planted aquarium? My tank is 48 x 26 x 26. Thanks

The tubes will be fine. What wattage are they?

T5's can last a long time although that does vary. It is advised that they are changed every twelve months as they become predominantly weaker over time and lack the ability to grow plants to their full capability.

I thought it was only T8s that did that and that T5s just failed?

HI Ian, by that do you mean they will be effective up until the tube fails?? sorry if that's a naive question, not had any experience with these tubes before. Will four tubes be sufficient? Thanks. :good:
