Lighting Combinations?

hi, i already have a 30w tube in my tank but i am going to put anohter in it. can i put a 45w or a 55w in there if i get the correct ballast for it? i dont see that theres a reason cant.

I don't know how it works in the UK but kits are made in the US to do exactly that. They come with mounting hardware, a ballast and the connector for a power compact fluorescent lamp. You then get the lamp with the spectrum that you prefer. Afraid they won't work in the UK because we use 120V 60Hz power here.
