Lighting And Overkill?

Just sitting thinking the rio 350L has 4 x54watt T5 was just about to ditch the nature tubes and get another 2 day lite one. It occured that maybe i could just disconnect 2 of the T5 and have just 2 T5 x54watts in. Id there a reason why jewl put in four that i am missing, thought it could be as the depth at 66cm is a fair bit?

Wow, that is deep! I can barely reach the bottom in my 2 foot deep tank (60cm) and I am 6' 4" with long arms!

Hi i have the same tank and just run on of the light bars and my plants are doing fine i think 4 is a little over kill.

Yeah it is a bit to deep im only 5'7 and im up to my shoulder when trying to touch the bottom

I run only two T5s (0.65 WPG), without reflectors, on my 60 cm deep tank. Also up to my armpits in water, even if I want to reach the bottom at the front, let lone the back... plants took about a month to adjust from the 1 WPG (50 cm deep tank) to the 0.65 in the deeper tank, but they're doing well now.

Stick with the 2*T5's, I don't even know why Juwel put 4 tubes on their larger tanks, the majority of users are fresh water and simply don't require the lighting intensity.

The two t5s in my old rio 180 was deff overkill, i cant believe the difference now I have the 300 with two t8s, so much better, especially algae wise, touch wood
