If I set up a light brackish tank (say between 1.002 and 1.004) and add a pair of kribs, a pair of orange chromides, some madagascan rainbows, some red rainbows, a few mollies and few platies does that sound like it would work? Is there a puffer that I could add? PFK mag seemed to think that some could work in a community tank - obviously I'd have a back up plan with another tank. I've also heard that you need to stock brackish lighter than freshwater because of the salt content - is that true? I plan to add all of the fish when it's FW and slowly up the SG. A resource called wetwebmedia reckons that the rainbows above and mollies do better with SG up to 1.005.

Thanks for any advice
Andy

Rio 300 - 300 litre, 80 us gallons, 48 inch by 18 by 18...not sopmething I'm definitely going to do yet but just want to plan it out. Do SA puffers like a bit of salt in their tank?

SA puffers are true FW fish and wont like the salt much, figure 8 puffers are usually ok with semi aggressive fish without long fins and need a SG of around 1.005.

Your stocking plans sound fine to me
