life is not fair... we spend our whole lives figuring it out only to find out we are too old to do anything about it...

Caffeine thought of the day...

In my Bitterling post, I just posted on, I mentioned in passing, that I've been experimenting with air stones... seems my whole life, is one big experiment, on the best way to do everything... I was working on pastures yesterday, as it was exceptionally nice outside, and winter is coming, and I'm moving animals towards their winter pastures... winter pastures, are smaller, more protected from the north and west, and the resulting winter storms, and easier to maintain food and water, in the snow, and below freezing temperatures... I'm trying a new way of protecting my trees from our "hair sheep" which are more "goat like" than normal wool sheep, and who like to eat the bark off most trees... ( about the only trees they won't strip the bark off of, are black walnuts, which I assume are too bitter ) I took down a previous failed experiment, to use those components for the new way...

we go through life learning, and seems like once we find out everything, we get too old to make use of that experience, and then die... this seems to carry over to all facets of my life, from my aquariums, and on to everything I do...

The hobby isn't a really important thing - it's an intelligent pastime for me. But I try to leave a record of what I've figured out. Here, when the owners stop paying for it, the forum will vanish. I've seen so many great websites drop out of view since the internet fired up. There are wayback machine type searches possible, but as always you have to know what you're looking for, and out of sight, out of mind.

So we have to do what we can to build human cultures, in fishkeeping, farming, science, arts...

Hey, it's fun. You never know what your contribution was or will be. Often it's not in the things we expect. I know nothing about sheep, or goat hair, but someone could read your post and go "eureka".

Meanwhile, the great cliche of if I knew then what I know now.... rumbles on, very relevant. But if I knew now what I may learn next week I wouldn't be able to do something I haven't even thought of yet next month.

Life might not be fair but it is also not unfair. Life is life. If only we were not self aware and just were then we would not have these debates ;)

Life is crap and when you are dying slowly and painfully because of other people fuplie things up and destroying your life, it most definitely is unfair. When you lose everything you care about and spend a year on the street with nothing but the clothes on your back because of an incompetent judicial system that believed an abuser and sentenced a disabled pensioner to die on the street. That is unfair. When you get robbed, mugged and raped on the street, and have a heart attack and nobody will help you, not even the hospital. When you get poisoned by a duckhead neighbour that knocks down an asbestos house with a crane (covering my place in asbestos dust) and none of the government departments do anything because they don't care. When a property owner and strata company spray one of the most poisonous chemicals in existence around your place and don't tell you, but you go outside to see what is going on and get gassed by the crap, that isn't fair. When you are dying alone in a crappy 1 bedroom unit that is infested with rats and insects and the owners don't do work orders, and the only visitor you get is the real estate agent doing a rent inspection once every 3 months, and nobody in the government or government departments will help, that isn't fair. Life is crap and unfair and some of us get too much of it and cant deal with it anymore. i cant cope with this anymore

Sounds like something I said to someone recently

I wish I was in my 20's for the physical benefit but I much prefer myself at 50 with experience, compusure some wisdom and no care attitude. It's just a pity that we couldn't couple the advantages of life experience with a young persons body
