Lfs Tour..

Booked a day off today as the motor is in for warranty work, Decided to take the loan car out for a run round the LFS..

I've been to Maidenhead aquatics at Stapleton, Dobbies garden centre near Atherstone, A5 aquatics near Hinckley and Deep Blue Aquatics in Hinckley...

Total time out = nearly 4 hours

Total spent = £2.70 on a new external filter outlet, (Bacon rolls at Mc'Donalds not included.. )

Miles done 32...

An enjoyable trip out

ha ha I love doing that I have 3 all on one road and they all have different advantages so its not like I can miss any of them out

one thing though....how did you manage to come home without any fish?

WOW thats a cheap run 4 stores and only £2.70 I take my hat of to you

If I done 4 stores I know I would spend more I am terrible my wife is doing her nut at the amount of ornaments I buy infact I think I have a problem

Gill, Deep Blue is a small shop on a housing estate in Hinckley, They have tropical and marine fish and the usual accessories.. Worth a visit if your in the area (53 Trent Road, Hinckley)

onebto, I think we are all possible in the same boat, I just sneak things in when no one is looking

mattlee, Hi mate.. Mollys are doing well, Had a drop of Black mollys last night just to add to my fast expanding amount of fry Not sure what you've heard about Dobbies but I found it to be well stocked and no dead fish in sight, They had a good selection and it was an enjoyable visit..

i have to agree with the above statement im affraid, very basic normal common stock and very little of it, loads of empty tanks.... he told me to put 20 angels in my 4ft tank and it would be ok! the owner is a bit of a tosser, i think he thinks he knows everything about everything but does anyone.....? he speaks in riddles and confused the hell out of me when i first started fish keeping
i went in last week to see if he was interested in buying some of my gold stripe cory fry when they are big enough and because he doesnt have a qt area he tried to sell me a uv unit for my fry tank... then said he would have to come round to see my set up (fair enough) then he said he would want 200 at 80p each and after a week in his store he would pay for what survives...
he hasnt even got room for 200 and 80p each, yeah right, he said corys are common and there too cheap to buy!!!!!!!
also very expensive in there, he told me why would you want to pay £60 for a filter off the internet when it goes wrong you have the hastle of sending it back, whereas if you buy the same one from him at £85 you get a replacement the same day.....

not just tanks empty mate shop was, not a customer insight. All i wanted was to ask him how much these three big clown loaches were in a tiny tank with four oscars, i repeat with four oscars. He kept just saying you know what they are worth so make a offer. i said I wouldnt pay more than 15 a fish as they was chewed and battered and had no colour. His Answer was "Well I can just stick them in another tank and in 3 days they would be healed and then I can bang them out all day long for £30 plus quid". then he said he'd take £25 for the smallest one. even though it was same size as ones they was selling in another store (a5) for a tenna each in mint nik. They may have healed but putting them in there was not right and clowns when there black goes grey from being very stressed its very rare they ever get there bold bright colours again. Rant over lol

sure the shop will be for sale very soon lol way its going so lets hope some one else buys it hahaha
