Where In The Uk Can You Refill Co2 Bottles

will refil anything from there big bottle. any brand as long as it's the standard fitment.

my 500g dennerle bottle costs £10 to refil from there. they refill your bottle rather than swapping it for a new one!

they also exchange new for old JBL's

A bit of a Bump I know but this thread seems really worthwhile...

I will shortly be recieving my Dennerle pressurised CO2 system with a 500g cannister. Does anybody know of anywhere in South Wales that can refill these at a reasonable price? Or in the Bristol/Bath area as I seem to live between the two.

Try aquajardin over at J12 of the M5, they stock Dennerle products, so can probably do refills, but worth a phone call first to check. Just google aquajardin for their website.

Thanks Sam, looks like a place worth visiting! Just found this old thread though, in which George F amongst others suggest that some Maidenhead Aquatics stores will exchange empty JBL and Dennerle 500g bottles for full ones. As there are two in Cardiff and one in Bristol I should be OK.. I hope!

The Maidenhead Aquatics near me will only touch genuine JBL bottles ..... no other make.
(They wouldn't touch Dennerle or Aquamedic)
It's down the the company they use for refills who will only handle JBL.

Interestingly, any Machine Mart sell refillable bottles at £7 for 600 gms and they always have stock I don't know how this compares to refillable gas but now I just run my CO2 system off them.

The Aquatic Habitat in Gloucester do Dennerle, never had CO2 from them but they are very helpful and stock a lot of Dennerle stuff.

I bought a 2KG bottle from Kingswood Marines, Bristol, and he just swaps it for a full one, phone first though. He does do smaller bottles so you could check if he'll take your Dennerle one.

Maidenhead Aquatics in Morden, Surrey, will refill the 2KG bottles but they send them away, over the counter swap for 500g

Heritage Aquatics in Wallington, Surrey, will swap 500g / 2KG bottles, generally have them in stock and generally a fantastic shop, but marine only.

Thanks for the advice guys... The Machine Mart tip sounds good but their site suggests that this is a disposable bottle, which have a different size connector (?). I Think?

I'm using the D& D system that I got on ebay for aroun £85, I think they should fit any Co2 system that says it takes refillable bottles

I went here today to get a 2kg bottle, but they dont refil

Instead they took my bottle and exchanged it for one what was filled in stock. As my bottle was a 2kg, they came out with a tall thin 2kg bottle which would have no way fitted in my cabinet, they then came out with another but only 1.5kg. The guy at the shop said that it was pot luck, the price was the same to get a bottle, next time he said i might get lucky and there might be a small 2kg bottle in stock. (like the one i took in).

They charged £18


I have been in conversation with another guy who doesnt refill, but will exchange bottles for £8

We do refill and refurbish extinguishers however we use an industrial supplier for our Carbon Dioxide extinguishers.
We do however offer a "refill exchange" - where you give us the empty bottle and swap it for another at the cost of £8.00 each time.
Or we can get them refilled for you (upon inspection of co2 bottle) at a cost of: £12.00 (based on a 2-4kg co2 bottle)

If you try Mainpoint in Cheltenham and speak to mike, the MD, ask him about reconditioned fire extinguishers, he told me if you say its for an aquarium, he will sell you a 2kg for £20 or send one out via courier for £35 and they will fit all normal c02 regulators, but id you have one of the small bottles, anglia aquatics do a conversion nut to fit the small regulators and the large bottles
