Well, I'm giving my 2 Blue Gourami's to a friend's 60gal tomorrow. :( They are too big and fast for my lil 20 gal (something the LFS didn't tell me) and both male, so there are serious territory issues (something else they didn't tell me) :X I'm gonna miss these guys, :byebye: especially how they come out to greet me when I walk by.

2 questions,

I the drive is about an hour. How should I pack them? I know they can grab a gulp of air if they need to, so I'm not too worried about oxygen supply. What about temperature? Should I pack them in a cooler?

Should I get a male/female pair of dwarf gourami? Are they just like the blue ones, except littler, Or should I attempt a single south american puffer? (I hear they are the most docile of all puffers)

Thanx :fun:

Sorry to hear you have to say good-bye to your babies :(

As far as packing them, an hour drive isn't so very long. I drive 1/2 hour from the LFS. So I'd say if you pack them in a plastic bag like they do at the fish store, and leave plenty of extra air at the top, you should be fine. Depending on the temp in the car, it might not be a bad idea to have some kind of insulation, like the cooler that you mentioned.

Good luck!

PS. I think dwarf gouramis are nice!
