Hi,

My light unit has broken and was thinking about trying out the LED lights as a cheaper option in the long run compared to buying a new unit etc...

I just don't know what to get to enable me to still have plants that grow and do well.

I have a Juwel Vision 260 which had T5 bulbs and the plants were doing fine.

Could anybody suggest some LED's that would be suitable?

Do these seem fine?

looked at the first one its says non condensing humidity of 95% as limits. Do you get a lot of condensation on the lid?

I use the same LEDs that people put under their cars they're 100% water proof and dirt cheap. You can get a strip of 24 LED's for 99p on eBay all you need is an adaptor which is also cheap off there and just to do some simple wiring and its done. Just search LED strips in eBay. Well worth the investment I've got them in all three of my tanks.

I just ordered a couple of these. I'll probably order several more of these after my next payday. Some for regular white lighting and some for blue moonlights.

I have 2 Marineland LED lids, and I love them. They provide more than ample light in the tank, and have the blue moonlight built in. The parts of my plants that aren't being eaten look very healthy.
