oh happy day..a package waiting for me when i arrived home from work..a package from thailand no less :D
i present to you all now, my treasured kra buey (water dipper/scoop) signed by my mentor in thai plakat knowledge - Precha Jintasaerewonge of plakatthai.com.
this device is the traditional way of transfering plakat from jar to jar in thailand. it's beautiful, really.
and yes, being the "plakat fan-boy" that i am, i asked precha to sign it for me :D
he also sent me only the greatest video footage of plakat you will ever see, guaranteed. this vcd is hard to find but absolutely breathtaking in it's macro zoom footage of the breeding rituals of plakat. precha was the scientific adviser for that segment of the australian (i think) weird nature series.
i recommend you guys start google searching bbc to see if it's available, the episode you want is the "breeding" one. ;)

that is awesome, i love the design on the handle! this isnt a net is it? its a solid cloth correct? whatever it is, still cool.

also, are you worried about the permanant marker on the cloth getting into the water?

im going to www.alltheweb.com it because that has a section for video, try there everybody.

coconutman, i don't think i'll actually use it, probably end up on the wall next to the fish ;) it's solid cloth by the way, kind of a nylon, it's better than mesh / net because the fish is more comfortable in his own water while transferring ;)

How much did you bought it for? Been trying to find something like that because it lessen the betta's stress during water changes.
they were a gift actually ;)

haha i thought that was what was going to happen to it. are you considering buying one for actual transfers/water changes? ive seen em on aquabid for pretty cheap. not as designer as yours is.

Man I am so jelous. I am still using a small glass or 3.5x3.5x3.5 plastic box to "net" my fish.

I dont understand the angle or orientation of the net. Should it not be shaped liek an L?
