Its not advisable to keep crabs with fish, if they get hold of any fish, they will without a thought, kill them. I believe they are fed earth worms and crickets but will also eat algae and certain moss. They require an aquaterrarium to live well and it has to be kept very humid. Its a bit of a specialist care sheet for them and to be honest, since they only feed at dusk and dawn, its not likely you will see much activity. Maybe just start with your fish, get the hang of it and keep it as an option for later on when you've got a wealth of knowledge in your head.

Yeah don't get 1 straight away build ur knowledge first but I've never had any problems with mine he happily walk up and down the tank picking up any food on the way and doesn't cause any problems he even sits next to my 2 frogs and isn't botherd by them

Ye i suppose once i no how to keep fishi can look into other things later, still want some frogs tho haha

Anyway i bought my 46l tank today and an api master test kit, What should i do with the water before i put it in the tank?

Firstly treat the water with tap safe or whichever type of water treatment you got. And set it all up as if you had fish in there and leave it to cycle some people do a fish in cycle but I prefer to cycle with no fish in as you would be putting the fish through a stressful time with all the changes that will happen when the good bacteria are building up

Right well i didnt get any water treatment so ill go back to my LFS and pick some up tommorow, any make or brand specificaly (sp?)?

Seachem Prime is extremely concentrated and can be used for dealing with ammonia and nitrite. That would be my number 1 suggestion. Stress Coat+ would be number two.

Ultimately, they all do basically the same thing though. Just be sure that you get one that deals with heavy metals as well as just dechlorinating.

Not hard metals, heavy. Things like copper, iron, etc. It will neutralize those things that can be in your tap water as a result of being in metal pipes for so long. (There aren't a lot of them, but it is just a safety thing. Better safe than sorry.)
