as calsonic stated, this is L191.

although the photo isn't the best, it looks in need of a good feed or 10, make sure you have wood in your tank.

As already said it looks like L191...the tails white as you put it cos it's young, as it grows out the tail will fill with colour.

na it doesn't have the pattern of the L191, the body looks just like L027, i've been informed that the tail will turn body colored as it ages. so would explain because all the pics i looked at was of adult fish. thanks anyway.

the fact you think its L27 makes me laugh, get another photo, 10 quid says it is L191

ok, after 2 days of investigation, i agree it is L191. i couldn't find 1 exactly matching the pattern of mine but the closest match i could find was a juvi L191. is there a common name for these? does it grow to similar size to the royal panaque? and lastly, is this plec worth less than the royal?
thanks
David

is there a common name for these?

A dull-eyed royal, but common names really shouldn't be used imo.

does it grow to similar size to the royal panaque?

I take it you mean L27? If so, then no...about 9-10" max for L191

and lastly, is this plec worth less than the royal?

no idea why this matters but they are generally slightly cheaper imo.

i've been informed that the tail will turn body colored as it ages. so would explain because all the pics i looked at was of adult fish. thanks anyway.

just to clarify, this is exactly what i told you in the previous post I made..

is he feeding yet Dave?

If you specifically want an L190 a shop in New Ferry has them at the moment and I'm sure Pier will have them in

i didn't go out especially to buy a royal plec just saw them and liked it, and seen as though there does seem to be a shortage of l numbers at the moment i thought i'd pick it up while a could, i payed £20 for it and its about 2.5 inch. yeah its feeding it ate one of the hikari algae tablet things the 1st day and has been on the wood and the algae on the plants and also has been munching through a chunk of cucumber. has fattened up nicely, although wasn't in bad shape when i got him. i only got it to o with the thomasai dwarf cichlids until it got big enough for the big tank. not particularly wanting an l190 as of yet, although might pick one up in the future. i am after another l122 orange seem and 1 or 2 snowball plecs! never see them anywhere though! never mind!
i'll see what they have in bas when i go a week on saturday to pick up some new snakeheads hopefully!
cheers anyway
