Kribensis Tankmate?

if it's breeding pair and a relatively small tank, i'd say nothing else, as they will probably attack their tankmates. but otherwise, you can keep bristlenose plecs and rosy barbs with them, almost anything of similar size and temperment (semi-aggressive).

Spot on. I will add some to this, but i will probably later.

They seem to do well in robust communities with fish that aren't too small.

Ottos should be fine. Not sure on the neons. They might look a tasty snack to a full grown krib. If not, they might get "pushed around" too much. I don't really know about the platies.

It seems it very hard to find a tank mates for them

It isnt hard at all. They get along well witih about everything not neon sized.
Mine have small neons in with them with no problems

They have babies at the moment but apart from keeping the other fish away do no damage

Of course it depends on the tank size - mine are in a 270l tank that is very heavily planted so there is plenty of room for other fish to keep out of their way

As STD said, it does depend what size tank you are keeping them in. Kribs, like most Cichlids, become territorial when breeding and may end up chasing your other fish. If the tank is large enough, then it's not a problem.

i had 2 girls in a 30 gal with a chinese fire belly newt, 3 dalmation mollies, 2 swordtails, and a pleco and they got along with everybody. but after 8 months together they couldn't get along with each other so i seperated them and they both seem to be happy with their tankmates. they never bothered any else so i think your options are pretty open.

But he is gettign a pair, which means aggression 101. Females sometimes get along, but not always. Males will not get along period.

He said it's a 29g, there is plenty of room.
I'm not disputing the fact that the tank isn't big enough, just pointing out that they become territorial when breeding.
I have a pair of Keyhole Cichlids in a 137G tank and they are one of the more peaceful Cichlids until breeding time. The male will spend hours guarding his territory and chasing other fish away.
