I saw one of these at my LFS today, I almost bought it but at the last minuted I decided what little I already knew about it wasn't sufficient, so I thought I'd ask you.

How big does it get?

Is it a threat to other fish?

How long does it live?

Is it hardy?

I've heard this one is well suuited to 30 gallons, is this true?

That's where I got my info, but I was wanting info from people with first hand knowledge of this fish. I was wondering if there isanything I should know before I get the fish?

I discovered from this forum that I actually own one of these. It was meant to be a Queen Arabesque but I was sold the wrong one, not that I'm complaining!
As far as i know they grow to about 5" max. He's in my community tank with 2 Bristlenose, a Candy Striped Pleco and a Leopard Frog Pleco as well as community fish, tetras, harlequins etc. My tank is 21g and heavily planted with plenty of bogwood, some rock and some slate. I've not had any problems with him being aggressive and all the plecos stay out of each others way. The fish are due to be moved to a bigger tank in the next couple of months but as they are all quite small still, they are fine at the moment.
Not sure how long the king Tiger Pleco lives so maybe someone else can help you out there. His favourite spot is in a little slate cave I built for him, doesn't really bother with the bogwood. I feed him algae wafers and on occasion some cucumber. He also likes bloodworm and daphnia when I use it to feed my other fish.
Again, not certain how hardy they are but he came to live in the tank when it had been running for about 6 months so it was fairly matured.
Hope this helps!

Hi,

I've got one of these - lives in/under a piece of bogwood and hardly ever see it (although it's a treat when you do).

LFS told me that they get to around 5-6"

Lifespan in the aquarium is apparently up to 10 years

Had mine for about 6 months now so would say it's hardy, lol

Got mine in a 40g with Blood Parrots, Angels, Kissing Gourami and Rainbowfish - they don't even acknowledge it

Kim :)

Cool, so would you say it would get along with my BGK and Clown Loaches?
