khuli loach

Sounds like your water is bad and the tank health is degrading. Do frequent water changes in the up coming weeks and syphon and clean the gravel today or tommorrow.

Constant maitenance is recquired with fish, and water changing is a must.

please mr_miagi dont jump to the conclusion i dont do water changes ok. i do 50% every week and after that khuli ive doen partial water changes everyday just to make sure. also i syphoned the gravel as much as i could... so please dont assume im so nieve :D then we'll get on just fine

thanks for your concern anyways

*added* i think it may have been a bad batch of live bloodworm we had in, as ive been told live food could contain diseases which is one reason why i know that discus aren't fed on it, or any other sensitive or indeed expensive fish.
as for the gourami he was to the same fate as his partner (my other gourami) i had bought them from quite a bad fish store that also sold me my 'red' widows which as you can imagine were dyed which is why i was suffering problems with that tetra; its a long story and im sure no one really wants to hear it anyways... so lets just say both gouramis had developed it because of the same reason.

I never jumped to any conclusion. A healthy fish can hold off bacterial infection. So obviously he wasnt in tip top shape, and by the extent of the infection and by the look of it in the picture, its bad. So the tank cant be in top shape. But thats just My opinion.

No where in my original post did i assume u didnt do water changes. :dunno:

And where did i mention in that post you were nieve??? I cant see it?? :dunno:

Abstract, I think so too  and to be perfectly honest, I don't get the chance to inspect my bottom dwellers thoroughly every single day. Some of them I'd be lucky to catch a glimps of once a week ! And my own Kuhli loach I see fairly seldom :/

I have 8 kuhlis - I'm lucky if I see 2 a day.

So sorry for your losses Vixen....

I've got a bottle of something from Waterlife, think it might be Sterazin, says it can be used to disinfect live food like daphnia, wonder if it would work on bloodworm too? you've got me worried now.

Big hug....

Sarah
