Keeping Bacteria Alive

Can i keep my filter in a plastic bin with dechlorinated water as an emerdency to keep bacteria alive for a few days?

Yes. You can also throw in a little pure ammonia now and then to give it some food.

Also, put an aerator under the filter media to provide a little water movement through the media.

I havent got ammonia at home but i put some fish food in the water.
Will buy some tomorrow. Im sure it will come handy in the future.

Agree, you shouldn't have much bacteria loss at all in only a few days.
