I am sure there is a slight cost involved Mick. The filter needs power to run and I only have about 3 3/4 quarts left of the gallon that I bought 3 or 4 years ago. Having spent over a dollar on that gallon I must admit there is some cost involved, but not enough to buy a gum ball.
