I can't believe it. The person was just in the process of cancelling the lot on ebay because I was buying it.
Stupidly I hadn't clicked buy it now as soon as I'd sorted out collection etc. I was just letting them cancel it.

I can't believe it. It was absolutely perfect for what I wanted it for.

Thats the way with ebay sometimes. I was going to buy a tank and noone had bid on it and it was going cheap, so i though id leave it till last minute to bid and then my iphone crashed just before it ended, i was not very happy.

Well I thought to myself 'Should I click buy it now to make sure no one else can' And then was like...can't do that until I know for certain they're ok with me not picking it up until Friday. Then when they said they'd cancel it for me but that it was ok that I picked it up on the Friday I was like 'Oh well, no need to buy it now'.

What are the chances. I'm so gutted There are a couple of other 60l's available atm but that was just so close. I'd been on the phone with the seller to confirm it n everything.
I just really hope I didn't alert the buyer to it using this thread...that'd just be unfair! lol.

But in all seriousness wouldn't you ideally want a sponge filter in a tank with baby shrimp anyway?

As you know I am no expert, still learning, but all the talk of high low rate being risky got me reading

I ruled it out due to how irritating air pumps are and obviously that's what would be running it. But it's not a bad suggestion. It's the best filter by far for a shrimp tank.
Also there is the problem of heat distribution around the tank. With a normal internal I was planning on extending the outlet with some piping so that it came out on the other side of the tank (sort of like a REALLY long spray bar.
I figured this way the water has to be pulled through the divider to get back to the filter and so will keep a nice mixing going.

Someone is buying my rummynoses a week on Sunday and they have a 60l tank so I might ask them how much they were wanting for it. Depending on price I could take that from them and buy an internal, heater and light. But at the mo I'm waiting on a reply from someone else.

Yeah, I guess the noise level with an air pump might get a bit annoying...

I hope you get a bargain buy, if I spy any cheap second hand 60L tanks going I'll let you know
