I know that when you leave water out to age, befor doing water changes, that it can reduce the amount of chlorine in it. Does amonia also evaporate?

I have 2x 30lt carbouys that I fill from the tap and add de-chlorinator. I then leave them in the room by the radiator where my tanks are (with the caps off) for a week (ie. between water changes) This takes the chill off and just helps to condition the water, me thinks :look:

Yeah it would, my friend does the same but just for a day.

Worth bearing in mind that Chlorine does evaporate, and water companys are now starting to use chloromine instead which doesnt.

I only leave my water for an hour or so before I add it...never had any problems at all, as I use de-chlor before.
