well if a pair forms, I would def remove the "loner" as this fish will get harrassed by the pair. Some schooling fish thrive with the harem approach of breeding in which a dominant male can have offsrpind with more than 3 to 5 females, but with cichlids, its usually a monogamus pair that forms and hence, the third fish will be chased away getting injured and possibly even killed. so keep an eye on them :good:
 
they paired off, fairly quickly, i returned the loner female to my lfs and got 5 neon tetras, 5 zebra danios and 5 albino cory cats to put in the tank. i also added some plants. the tank is starting to look good. i still havent gotten my black poster board to put on but i probably will today. then i will try and add some photos.
 
are you quarentining the new fish or did you put them straight in? Any new fish I get I quarentine just to make sure that they are not infected with any disease and especially in the case of neons... they are notoriously overbred and have horribly weak immune systems so they run a higher risk of spreading disease to your tank... :crazy:
