just got my first fish!

Hey Everyone!

Well, yesterday was a treat getting my new guys/gals for my 10 gal. tank. At first, they were shy, hiding in the bottom corner for an hour or so. Then they started "checking" things out. Now they are swimming around in the tank..together..there are 4 of them, and seem to be adjusting just fine.
I am hoping to add to the tank in a week or two with glowlights, jewels or rummynoses. Just hard to make of my mind.

You should just go with one type of tetra! If you buy more of them you can see nice schooling behavior. It's usually best to buy at least 6.

In my 55 gallon tank i have a school of 9 black neon tetras. Its cool to watch them turn and follow the leader.

Enjoy your fish. Tetras are cool. You're going to be limited with only a 10 gallon tank. Don't overstock it. If all goes well with your present tank, save up your pennies and get a bigger one. Then you can really have fun with 3 or 4 different types of tetras, or whatever.
