Just Got A Job In My Lfs

any tips for a new guy? what should/shouldnt i do? i keep fish but i imagine selling them has different requirements?

Welcome to the club :good:

Here are tips:

1.Research, research, research. Know as much as you possibly can on the fish you carry.

2. When customers pick out a fish they would like to take, ask lots of questions (ie. tank size, tank mates, water change routine, ect.) try to explain things but don't go too in depth. Most customers like you to go straight to the point. If you think it was better for them not to have the fish they choose, make sure you tell me them why and recommend a good substitute. Always remember to tell them to float the bag before they put them in the tank!!!

Good luck, the first day is normally pretty hard. ;)

Some great points by DiscusLova and let us know how your first day goes!

Thanks. ;)
Looking to have one final change which means setting up a couple of marine tanks! :fun:

It's usually minimum wage so don't expect more that that. If it is more than minimum wage, then it's a bonus!

Not sure how it differs for different ages.
Adult minimum wage is about £5.73 an hour but I think it's less if you are below a certain age. Might be worth looking on direct.gov website to see what it is.
