Just Got 4 Tropical Fish - Please Read

I'm just amazed at how the OP keeps asking questions that have already been answered by well-intentioned people in previous posts. It's like he stops reading the post as soon as he sees something in it he doesnt like or doesnt want to do, then ends up asking about it later. Stop being so sensitive, nobody is being mean to you, you are feeling guilty because you made some mistakes, it happens to ALL OF US. Just take the advice given to you and learn from it as you go. You obviously care for your fish since you do feel badly when you find out you arent taking proper care of them, so learn how to take care of them correctly! Also please stop taking advice from the folks at the fish store. They just care about your money. If you want to learn about something, ask here, or fire up Google and learn for yourself.

what he's a p*ss taker? is that want yanking their chain is?
I used "yanking their chain" to mean that the OP was just having some fun (pretending) with all of those who were trying so hard to help.

I don't know what a p*ss taker is, but it doesn't sound good.

well.....

First off, the "Black Goldfish" you've got is a Blackmoor. These fish are sensitive(compared to most goldfish) and there fore get sick fast.
Reason's you might want to return it to the store:

1. Minimum Goldfish requirments is 30gallons for the first, then an additional 10 gallons for the next ones.
2. They POOP alot, and make your cleaning harder.
3. You can't add other tropical fish as most tropical fish(especially tetras which make up most of the hobby)nip and bite long fins. Blackmoor has long fins.
4. Even if you get rid of the ich it will still come back like in a month or so

All of the above has been based from personal experiance (yes I did everything I listed above and regrett it). So please just return the GOD DAMNED FISH! :shout:

oh yea...snails are pretty good, and so are Armano Shrimp (Was that it? Armano, Armo ,Mano... what was it again?)

ok guys i just came back from work and i started the treatment, what i did is i took the filter out, i threw away the ammonia chips and carbon chips mix and i added just plain ammonia chips to the filter, so now there is no carbon in the filter, i sifted the chips before adding the filter to the aquarium and all, so yea i put the filter back and now i added 5 ML of the ich medication to the aquarium, here is are instructions word by word:"remove activated carbon from filter and continue aeration. add 5ml per 5 us gallons of aquarium water. treatment may be hastened by raising the temp to 82F. Repeat dose after 48 hours . wait another 48 hours then change 25% of the aqarium water and add fresh activated carbon."i did all correct yea guys?my heater is set to 80F btw oh and i returned the pleco, i didnt get anything else.. i want to treat this first.

there was 1 thing i was hassitant about and thats where it says add 5ml per 5 us gallons, i have a 10 gallon tank, do i need to add 10ml? i added 5 ml like 10 mins ago cuz i was unsure, do i need to add 5 more ml?

ok i just gave a call to my friend since u guys are not replying atm and he told me i did wrong, if it says add 5 ml per 5 us gallon then i need to add 10 ml the medicine, so im gonna go now and add 5 more ml.

If it says 5ml for 5 gallons you would use 10ml for 10 gallons.

no, use half dosage with your pleco and other scaleless fish, unless im wrong and plecos arent scaleless fish....

i returned the pleco... , i dont have a pleco anymore, i only have 2 swordtails and 2 mollys. ok so i have added 10 ml to my tank, i will repeat this dose saturday evening and then 2 days after that i will change 25% of the water and re ADD carbon to my filter

What "medication" are you using? I've never heard of any ever taking only 3 days to get rid of it. I can't see how it's possible, given the life cycle of the parasite.

Why are you using Ammo-Chips?

why am i using ammonia chips? its the rocks inside the filter, that must be running, the carbon one needs to be removed and its my mistake its not 3 days, im using the medication called SUPER ICH from API, so it basically takes 2 days + 2 days + 2 days, so 6 days or a week in other words,

hes using amo-chips since he doesnt want to do a fishless cycle, but he doesnt want his fish to die, im not going to complain as long as he renews the chips frequently to keep ammonia levels down....

wat do u mean musho? thats the kind of filter i use, i got a 10 gallon starter kit for your information btw when i bought my tank, the filter, it has ammo chips in it and carb chips in it, mixed together. i bought 2 products for cases like this where i need to medicate the tank etc, 1 box of ammo chips and 1 box of carb chips, i didthat because now that i needed to take the carb chips out of the filter i simply damped all the chips and simply put new ammo chips, when i am done with the treatment i will simply add some carb chips to the filter and it should all be good. i have a question guys, when i do a water change, should the fresh water that im adding be hot , cold or in between? i have my aqualife heater in the tank set to 80F. are you saying i shouldnt put too much ammo-chips in the filter? i mean its not that i have put alot anyway, i just put a small amount just like my friend in the store showed me, ontop of the chips comes a sponge of course. i have a question, my 4 tropical fish eat blood worms too? how much worms should i put in the tank? i might go and buy some blood worms for my fish to eat because i want them to have an alternative food, not just the flakes.
