Hi guys, already have one tank with a male betta (Stevie) who is so friendly, loves to have his tails stroked! in with some rasboras and cories.

Decided to convert a 65L into three sections for 3 more males B-)

Finally managed to get it all done (my god that was hard work) but just wondering how long you all leave yours to give the silicone time to set properly before adding the water?? Also how do you get off the excess silicone - yes I got it everywhere

Filter for it is cycled as its been used previously so once its all set (currently running in another tank to keep it going), can hopefully go get some more males, I couldnt help myself, I keep going into LFS's and seeing these poor guys and just want to resuce them :) Hate seeing them kept with tetras who are nipping away at their fins - they kinda just look at me and say 'please take me home' :D

Couple of pics so you can see what Ive done already.

:) I am going to do the same with my 60 litre soon, however I am not siliconing anything, just gonna use the Penn Plax dividers! :p I get so excited just thinking about having new bettas :) My little Loki will move in, then I get to choose 2 more fish! However, unless I absolutely HAVE to have an LFS betta, i think I will be buying from breeders on here. I've had it up to here with LFS!
I think silicone has to be left for a week.... but hey, I am no expert! Get planning your gravel, plants etc in the meantime!

PICTURES PLEASE once you have bettas in there!

Well you see I did buy two of the penn plax dividers from a certain seller on here (nudge wink etc) and totally my own fault, they werent quite wide enough!!! As the tank has a slight bow to the front of it - which being the dumb *** I am didnt take into account. So I cut one of them in half and fashioned it to fit, then went out today and got some plastic canvas to make the second one up - so they were a little wobbly so decided to silicone to be on the safe side :)

Already have the gravel (was already in the tank just needs a good wash) plants, pots etc, so now Im all in a hurry to fill it up and go shopping LOL.

A week  my patience is being pushed to the limits with that, but deep breaths ...... I can make it :D

The tube i used said 24 hours, although i added water after about 8 hours hehe

It's best to leave it 24hrs to make sure it's completely set. You can get the excess off with a razorblade.

I would read the tube that you used, most seems to say 24 hours, but one type of aquarium silicon I used said 48 hours to cure, probebly wont hurt if you do 24, I would just read up to make sure.

Ha, shows how much i know about sealant! :p I am guessing you bought dividers off the certain seller on here that I just purchased one off yesterday on Ebay.... :p hehe. No bow front though so I know mine will fit!

Hahahahaha yep read the the instructions Mags doh!! 24 hours on the tube :)

Tibby yes Im sure same seller ;)

Got my eye on another 65L tank on ebay, will just fit in the last remaining kitchen worktop space I have, could divide that up too

Oh god somebody stop me - I cant keep buying tanks - the house is fit to burst :fun:

Terrible addiction ain't it... :p am dreading my next electric bill though, with all this talking of increasing prices! Have promised the husband I will personally pay any excess :S
