Just Bought A New Tank

its 3 and a half feet long but has no hood. i am gonna make one myself but i have no idea about lighting for this size tank any help or info would be great

lighting go to lfs.....you should find the light unit starter like this

then you can choose light bulb to fit your tank, simple

can u use any size bulb with the starter unit?

yes that's the beauty of it, just check thickness, ive never had a problem yet

Have you thought about getting a luminaire (probably mispelled it) ? They sit over the top of the tank, and if you're keen on a lid get a couple of bits of glass cut to the right size from your local glazier - or a clear plastic cover.
