Just Bought 2 New Filters, Best Way To Cycle

I have had an aps 1000 external filter running for 18 months, but have just bought 2 new external filters. Should I run one of the new ones alongside the aps till its cycled or could I just take out all the media from the aps and put it in one of the new ones?

Never replaced a filter before so need info as my tank arrives 2 weeks today.

What size tank are you running at the mo?
What fish are in it?


Wondering if you could get away with splitting the cycled media of the APS1000 between all three, splitting the new media between the three filters and then running all three (perhaps at slightly reduced flow if possible) on the one tank.

I split the media in my Fluval 305 between my two new TetraTec 1200's and got an instant cycle on the new tank. Tiz what you should do!
